Good Day for Wyre Forest Conservatives

5 06 2009

The Conservative Party won 7 out of the 10 county council seats in Wyre Forest yesterday, an increase of 2 on the 5 elected in 2005.

Congratulations go to new comers Mumshad Ahmed in Kidderminster St George’s & St Oswalds, Nathan Desmond in Kidderminster St Marys and Anne Hingley in Kidderminster St Barnabas divisions. John Campion held his seat in Bewdley, Steve Clee in Chaddesley, Marcus Hart in Kidderminster St Johns and Gordon Yarranton in Cookley, Wolverley & Wribbenhall divisions. Congratulations also to Fran Oborski (Liberal) winning St Chads and Jim Parish and John Thomas (both Independent Community & Health Concern) winning the two seats in Stourport.

Wyre Forest residents seemed to reject the Labour party completely with them coming last in 5 of the seats including one of the two they held, Kidderminster St Marys.

No doubt Gordon Brown will arrogantly ignore the polling results across the country and claim that ‘most people think he is STILL the man to lead the country out of recession, clean up politics and save the universe….’
